Sawgrass is found in tropical and temperate regions worldwide.  These plants are characterized by long narrow leaves having sharp, often serrated margins, and flowering stems.  Sawgrass grows extensively in the Florida Everglades.  American alligators use it to build the nests where they hatch their young.
